Smart Object Tip - Replacing Image

August 23rd, 2007 by spllogics

When doing a photo manipulation or something I usually end up using alot of layers in some of them, and opening up adding a new one to replace this one to see how it looks ext..

So I found a neat trick to help with the replacing issue.

Take your Layers you might be switching out.
In this case a Texture and make it a Smart Object.
To do this you can right click the layer and select Convert to Smart Object.

This is what my image looks like.

Here are my layers. I’m going to replace Layer 2.

Simply Right Click on the layer and select Replace Contents.

Your Browse Window will open and you can select an Image
to replace the current one.

And now we have a new texture in place of the other one.
